Pelican Waters Estate, Pelican Waters
The Master Planned community of Pelican Waters provides new homes, apartments and villas throughout this magnificent 810 hectare, water-based community.
The estate includes private and public schools, shopping, dining, sports and recreation facilities.
Covey Associates were originally engaged in 2016 to incorporate a new innovative stormwater treatment approach into the next stage of Pelican Waters. The original stage was designed as ‘dry’ lots with conventional stormwater treatment however Covey Associates were approached by the developer to investigate incorporating a saline floating wetland system into the stage. The approach was approved by Council and the stage was transformed from dry lots to a mixture of canal lots with direct ocean access and also some dry allotments.
Following on from Stage 3B, Covey Associates were engaged as the estate engineering consultant to deliver a range of developments within the remainder of the estate such as a town centre, marina and dry stack boat storage and balance remainder development of the Southern Precinct which includes approximately 600 allotments and 4 medium-high density sites.
A number of major infrastructure items are required to deliver the remainder of the development including three major external intersection upgrades, major pump station and rising main, bulk earthworks including revetment wall, Lock and Weir system, two trafficable bridges, one pedestrian bridge and major bus transit centre.
Covey Associates engineering consultant role involves, Master Plan development, civil design and documentation, environmental design and documentation, Stormwater management (quality and quantity), development cost estimates, supervision of construction and contract administration.
