Based on our success at Parklakes 2, we were approached by the developers of Pelican Waters, an upscale development on the Sunshine Coast with ocean access, to see if floating wetlands could be utilised in a saline canal system.

Based on our success at Parklakes 2, we were approached by the developers of Pelican Waters, an upscale development on the Sunshine Coast with ocean access, to see if floating wetlands could be utilised in a saline canal system.

Following ongoing trials, several species of local plants demonstrated their ability to grow in salt water conditions.

We designed a stormwater treatment system in the Quays of Pelican Waters which uses floating wetlands to treat urban runoff entering a tidal canal. Research into this system is ongoing and the results have been extremely positive to date.
