Bushfire risk matters, and so does how it is assessed. The Covey Bushfire team is growing, we are looking for someone in their early to mid-career who wants to get hands-on with bushfire behaviour, land management, and risk assessment working alongside some of the most experienced, award-winning bushfire specialists in the industry.

At Covey you will:
- Work on real bushfire projects from day one
- Get out of the office for site inspections, fuel load surveys, and field assessments
- Use GIS, modelling, and analysis to understand and explain bushfire risk
- Have access to some of the latest innovations in bushfire simulation and assessment software

- Collaborate with and learn directly from experienced bushfire consultants who are hands-on and approachable
We are looking for someone with a qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or similar, who is curious about bushfire behaviour and keen to build practical and technical skills. Experience with GIS (ideally QGIS), fieldwork, land management, or fireground activities is a plus, but attitude and willingness to learn matter most.
You will get:
- Support, mentoring, and real responsibility
- A clear pathway to grow your technical capability
- Flexible working arrangements and sensible hours
- A genuinely supportive team that enjoys the work they do
- The option to work from North Lakes or our Sunshine Coast office
