Civil Engineer - North Lakes

You will need to be able to handle multiple projects including subdivisional work, stormwater, sewerage and water reticulation design.  Knowledge of structural design would be a definite advantage.  With a cross section of clients, it is vital that you can demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a good understanding of government legislation.

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or similar equivalent
  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Extensive experience within a civil infrastructure environment
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills
  • Proven time management skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • An enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the team
  • Proficiency in the use of civil software applications

Civil Project Engineer or Project Manager - Maroochydore

You will have the opportunity to manage multiple projects including the design, documentation and construction of subdivisional work, roadworks, stormwater, sewerage and water reticulation systems.

As an engineer you will have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and develop relationships with key stakeholders. You will have a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for problem solving.

Preferred Position Requirements;

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 5 years experience in civil works including; subdivisions, industrial /commercial, earthworks and infrastructure services
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills
  • Proven time management skills, attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • An enthusiasm and drive to contribute to the growth and development of the team
  • Proficient in design and drafting software including but not limited to 12D and Autocad

Graduate Bushfire Technician

Covey Associates is seeking a Graduate Bushfire Technician with a strong interest in bushfire behaviour and skills in either Environmental Science, Land Management, GIS, and fireground experience. The position is based on the Sunshine Coast or North Brisbane. As a Graduate Bushfire Technician, you will assist with:

 

  • Conducting bushfire hazard and risk assessments, including 2D Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessments and Radiant Heat Flux Modelling.
  • Undertaking fuel load surveys and site inspections.
  • Developing “what if” scenarios and engineering design fires.
  • Developing bushfire management plans encompassing fuel management, ecological burn intervals, fuel reaccumulation rates, evacuation plans, statutory compliance, and fire behaviour analysis (FBAN) and predictive modelling.
  • Conducting prescribed burn simulations and plan formulation.
  • Conducting bushfire research and education on bushfire mitigation and preparation.
  • Assisting the Senior Bushfire Consultant and Bushfire Technical Lead.

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in bushfire behaviour and a strong desire to learn. If you are passionate about bushfire management and ecology, then we want to hear from you!
